As a journalist I was trained to tell stories.
As a UX writer I help others tell theirs.

I start by asking questions. Who are your users? What do you know about them?

What is the skin, meat, and bones of your business? What role does the product or experience play?

Then I ask my stakeholders about themselves — sometimes the hardest part. What are the assets you have or would like to have? What is the story you wish to tell?

A typical day for me could involve:

  • Working with data and research teams to create user personas and journey maps for a new experience
  • Working with UX designers to create user flows and prototypes
  • Sharing prototypes in a working sessions with enterprise stakeholders, and receiving and implementing feedback
  • Working with development teams to establish guidelines for net-new content-supported design
  • Using excellent creative and communication skills to foster a great working relationship with our clients.

I also write and design thought leadership content for our company website. The case study below illustrates both how I work and how I write.
