Roku Design System

Write, document, and maintain the Roku Design System.

Roku Home Screen Redesign

As a UX writer, I led content design for the Roku Home screen redesign, the company’s first Home screen redesign ever.

Working with product design, engineering and brand, I wrote microcopy, headlines, and UI text to help users understand their new Roku home screen.

Search on Home

As a UX writer, I planned several research A/B tests to redesign the Roku Home screen, placing the Search bar at the top of the Home grid. Our goal was to help the user easily search for something to watch across the Roku platform. Though this feature ultimately wasn’t launched due to engineering restraints, it helped us understand more about how users think about Search across the Roku OS platform.

Improved Audio Tracks

As a UX writer, worked with product design to redesign the settings over video menu to help users, especially those in an international context, understand their options when choosing languages and audio tracks.

Content Details Pages

As a UX writer, assisted in launching content details page, which helps users understand watch options on their Roku TV.

Settings and Privacy

As a UX writer, worked with product design to update and refresh the settings and privacy experience on Roku devices to help users in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico make better-informed choices on privacy settings for their device.
